Letter to parents about ParentMail

Dear Parents/ Carers,

Improving School Communications with ParentMail

I am delighted to inform you that with effect from Tuesday 18th April 2017, we will be upgrading to PMX – ParentMail’s latest platform.

The benefits to this are that we use the most modern and efficient version of ParentMail to send home all the usual communications and you will be able to use it to book appointments for parents’ evenings and for online payments. This means that instead of operating three different systems for communications, payments and parents’ evenings, all three will now be done via ParentMail.

You will also be able to pick up school messages on your smartphone by downloading the free ParentMail App on Android or iOS, removing the need to search your emails for school messages.

For online payments, we will be using +Pay on ParentMail – an online payment service which allows you to pay for school items on your smartphone, tablets or computer.  We will inform you about items you need to pay through ParentMail, and you will then be able to pay electronically, with money transferred directly into the school bank account – this is safe and secure. ParentMail doesn’t store credit or debit card details and works in the same way as other large retailers who accept online payments.

Another great thing about +Pay on ParentMail is that you can also make payments using PayPal or PayPoint. We anticipate this will be easier than currently.

If you have an Android or Apple smartphone, we would recommend you download the free ParentMail App so that you can make easy, online payments on the go. To do this, simply search for “ParentMail” in your App store.

If you do not wish to make payments online, you can of course, continue to make cash, and cheque payments. We do, however, encourage you to make online payments where possible.

After 9th April, you will no longer be able to make payments to your child’s Wisepay account. Any balances for trips or catering will be transferred over to ParentMail at this time. We advise that you ensure your child has sufficient funds on their catering account for the first few days of the summer term prior to their Wisepay account being frozen.

The Wisepay data will remain active for some time, however, you may wish to download your transaction details for future reference.

We will issue advice about parents’ evening bookings in due course.

To use the latest version of ParentMail all you need to do is verify your account. Over the next few days you will be sent either an email or text message from ParentMail; when you receive this please just follow the instructions below.

If you have both a mobile number and an email address registered on your account, you will receive a registration invitation by text and email. You can decide which way you register – but you will only need to register once.

Mobile registration:

Please click on the link from the text message and follow the verification process. You will be asked to enter some details, answer a security question to verify who you are and to set a password for your account.

Email registration:

Please click on the link from the email and follow the verification process. As above, you will be asked to enter some details, answer a security question to verify who you are and to set a password for your account.

Please be assured that ParentMail is registered with the Information Commissioner and guarantees that all information you provide will be kept private and will not be passed on to any other organisation.

Without registering it is not possible to use any element of the system including topping up catering balances.
